The Deafening White Noise (2024)

Produced By: IYCS

Director and Cinematographer: Farid Tahmasebi

In a world devastated by pollution and destruction, humanity’s claim of ownership over the planet Earth has become meaningless. Emotionally and mentally shattered, humans find themselves adrift in a desolate and lifeless world, consumed by loneliness and isolation. The effects portrayed in this work are primarily achieved through physical means, basic equipment and limited crew. It is important to highlight that in my country IRAN, advocating for the environment and wildlife is unofficially deemed a political offense, resulting in severe punishments handed down by the justice system to activists.

It seems there are too many wars in the world going on at the moment. People aren’t aware how much dangerous they are becoming to each other and the environment they’re living in.  It is crucial that we address our treatment of Mother Earth before irreversible consequences occur. Throughout history, our planet has endured many challenges, and I believe it will continue to survive. However, the pollution we generate will ultimately harm us. We should be concerned about our own well-being. This experimental short film aims to immerse its audience in a glimpse of what our potential end might look like, perhaps encouraging viewers to reevaluate their lifestyles.
